Očarala me je njena dvoličnost: žrtev in grožnja, nedolžna in manipulativna.
Želim si, da me razumejo, izzivajo in slišijo.
Navdušila si nas s svojo notranjo močjo in globokimi vrednotami.
Tisto, kar me žene, je povezovanje.
Kultura poudarja strukturo, natančnost in temeljito pripravo.

Odraščala sem z zavedanjem, koliko predanosti in čustvene globine zahteva ta poklic – in sem to spoštovala.
A ostati zvesta svojim vrednotam, trdo delati v ozadju in ohraniti smisel za humor – to me drži prizemljeno.
Lani si imela zelo pestro leto. Kmalu, 6. junija ,bo na nemški televiziji predvajan tvoj novi projekt Club der Dinosaurier. Zelo nenavadno ime …
[smeh] Ja, naslov res preseneti – a prav to je njegov čar. Club der Dinosaurier ni to, kar pričakuješ.

Vedno si zastavim vprašanje: Zakaj ta zgodba in zakaj zdaj? Ko berem scenarij, moram nekaj občutiti: radovednost, nelagodje, prepoznavanje.
Pod napetostjo in adrenalinom film postavlja prava vprašanja o tehnologiji in naši odvisnosti od nje. In bilo je presenetljivo zabavno snemati grozljivko.
Privlačijo me liki, ki so nepopustljivi v svoji intenzivnosti in kompleksnosti.
We first noticed Lilly Krug on the red carpet at the premiere of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny during the 76th Cannes Film Festival, held at the Palais des Festivals. Her dress was truly stunning—one of those daring pieces where even the slightest wrong move could have led to an unfortunate reveal. We had already seen the gown in fashion editorials, but on her, it looked elegant and seductive rather than provocative. She wore it with grace and beauty, without a trace of vulgarity. Even then, she stood out with a unique poise—and today, she graces our new digital cover!
Her German roots faded quickly in the presence of such charisma. Intelligent, dynamic, sharp, and talented—that was our first impression. That dress told us she wasn’t like the others; she was something rare. Now, the girl has become a woman. More mature, grounded, confident—and most importantly, shaped by experience that has evolved significantly over the past two years. She emerged from the blue sea by the Martinez beach, and for a brief moment, her piercing gaze reminded us of her mother, actress Veronica Ferres. But Lilly’s personality is so strong that comparisons become unnecessary. She is truly one of a kind. The grown-up Lilly is more refined—and even more beautiful than before. GRAZIA sat down with the young Hollywood star of German descent.
The film Shattered, in which you play the lead role, is a gripping thriller – tell us more about the shoot.
Shattered is a psychological thriller that explores the tension between control and vulnerability – both in relationships and within ourselves. It shows how easily we can lose our sense of reality when desire, fear, and trauma intertwine. My character, Sky, is mysterious and unpredictable. At times, she’s like a mirror – reflecting what others project onto her – and at other times, she’s hiding something much deeper. I was drawn to her duality: both victim and threat, innocent and manipulative. She’s hard to define – which is exactly what made her so fascinating to play. Especially since it was my first leading role, filmed in the midst of the pandemic. It demanded emotional precision and, at the same time, the ability to let go. It’s one of those stories that stays with you long after the credits roll, because it raises questions about control and its limits.
Many people use beauty as a tool for power and control. Have you ever felt like your beauty enters a room before you do?
Yes, especially as a woman in this industry, beauty sometimes enters the room before you do. It can shape how people perceive you – before you’ve even spoken. I’ve felt that, too – but I’ve learned to handle it consciously. If someone expects something superficial, I see it as a chance to surprise them with depth. I want to be understood, challenged, and heard. Every person is more than just a beautiful face. What truly sets you apart is integrity, imagination, work ethic, and the courage to stay curious. Character is what keeps you in the room.
You’ve impressed us with your inner strength and deep values. What would you say is your true essence?
That’s such a beautiful compliment – thank you. I think my essence comes from a deep curiosity. I want to understand people, stories, emotions – not just perform them. That’s why I study psychology, too. What drives me is connection. I want to tell stories that move people, connect them, or even help them see a part of themselves they may have overlooked. I believe there’s quiet power in vulnerability – when you allow yourself to truly be seen, without the need for a mask or defense. That’s where real strength lies.
Do you think being born in Germany gave you more discipline?
Yes, absolutely. Growing up in Germany shaped how I approach work and life. The culture emphasizes structure, precision, and thorough preparation. It gave me a strong foundation – especially in an industry that’s often chaotic. What’s interesting is how that discipline had to evolve. Acting requires structure – but also surrender. You have to be ready to throw out the plan in favor of the moment. For me, it’s been about finding balance: deep commitment to the work, and freedom to let go when the camera starts rolling.
Your mother is well-known actress Veronica Ferres. Was she your inspiration? I recall you once said you wanted to be a singer or a lawyer. How did you end up acting?
My mom definitely was an inspiration – not just because she’s an actress, but because of how she lives her life – with strength and grace.
I grew up understanding how much dedication and emotional depth this profession demands – and I respected that. For a long time, I didn’t know what my path was. I wanted to sing, I considered law – I was full of ambition but hadn’t yet found what would completely draw me in. That changed the moment I stepped onto a film set for the first time. I felt this quiet certainty – like something inside me had clicked. Acting is where intellect and emotion meet. It’s where I feel most alive. So yes, my mom sparked the flame – but I had to follow the fire in my own way.
Did your mother give you any advice that helped guide your journey?
Yes – she once told me: “Stay true to yourself, work harder than anyone else, and don’t forget to laugh along the way.” That became my compass. In this industry, things can get overwhelming – the fast pace, high expectations, constant spotlight. But staying true to my values, working hard behind the scenes, and keeping a sense of humor – that’s what keeps me grounded.
Last year was intense for you. Soon, on June 6th, your new project Club der Dinosaurier will air on German television. The title is quite unexpected…
laughs Yes, the title does catch you off guard – but that’s part of its charm. Club der Dinosaurier isn’t what you expect. On the surface, it’s a fun story about two boys trying to find their place in a school full of testosterone. But beneath the comedy are themes like toxic masculinity, confronting the past, and the courage to grow. It’s also about the power of support – the right people around you can change everything.
You also filmed Hurricana last year. Can you tell us more?
Hurricana dives into the final days of Anna Nicole Smith’s life – a woman who was admired, but also deeply misunderstood. What moved me was how the film strips away the sensationalism and reveals the human behind the myth. It’s a story about addiction, loneliness, and the high cost of fame. But it also offers space for tenderness – for the complexity of a woman who was deeply vulnerable, yet constantly showed strength.
What about April X?
April X is a tense thriller set in the near future, following twins April and Bax. When April disappears, her brother dives into the darkest corners of the city – and his own psyche – to find her. The film explores identity, memory, and the disintegration of self when love becomes obsession. April was a very mysterious role – raw, elusive, and layered.
What matters most to you when choosing a role?
I always ask myself: Why this story, and why now? When I read a script, I need to feel something: curiosity, discomfort, recognition. If a character scares me a little or challenges my worldview, I know it’s worth exploring. It’s also important to me who’s behind the project – the team’s energy, the creators’ intentions, and the message we want to share with the world. I want to be part of stories that leave a mark.
You also made the film DRAGN. Tell us more.
DRAGN is a suspenseful sci-fi horror film that poses a vital question: What happens when artificial intelligence takes control – and we’re no longer in charge? It takes place during a team-building weekend in a remote forest. But what starts as a pleasant retreat quickly turns into a fight for survival when an AI drone targets the group. Beneath the tension and adrenaline, the film raises real questions about technology and our dependency on it. And honestly – it was surprisingly fun to shoot a horror movie.
After Cannes, you’re heading to Malta to film a new project. Can you share anything yet?
I’m really excited about this project. I can’t say much yet – except that it’s based on a beautiful and emotionally rich novel that’s very dear to many. It’s a story about healing, self-worth, and finding strength in unexpected places. I’ll be able to say more very soon!
If you could choose any role in the world and work with the best director – who and what would you choose?
So many dreams… But working with Denis Villeneuve or Luca Guadagnino would be incredible. I’d love to play a deeply flawed heroine – someone like Lady Macbeth, or a modern-day version of Joan of Arc. I’m drawn to characters who are relentless in their intensity and complexity.
A quote that best describes Lilly:
“Every character I play teaches me something I didn’t know I was ready to learn.”
